0. Launch of the Fundraiser
With the help of friends, I was able to pay for my participation in the Raro program, organize fundraising for an exhibition and solo show, rent a studio, and purchase materials. This launch became an important step toward bringing the project to life.
1. A Baby Shoe and Lucía
On the first day, I found a baby shoe on the street — a symbol of first steps. On the same day, I met the artist Lucía, whom I had long dreamed of working with. She is a wonder, and we inspired each other deeply. She’s soon leaving for the US, so our time together was a valuable shared experience.
2. Photography and Karina Beatriz
I came across a photograph of a woman’s chest on the street — people had walked all over it. Two weeks later, an artist with the last name Beatriz contacted me to suggest a collaboration. This magical coincidence brought new energy to the project.
3. Syrniki
Lucía and I began learning to work with papier-mâché. While working, I noticed a similarity between making papier-mâché and preparing tvorog (curd cheese), which reminded me of syrniki (Russian pancakes). This gave birth to the idea of a “Russian breakfast” made from papier-mâché. Inside the sculpture, I hid a ring I had also found on the street.
4. Sustainability
This project is not only a creative process, but also an act of ecological transformation — reusing materials and rethinking space. Recycling is close to my heart, and I consciously use street-found objects to give them new life through art.
5. Pedro’s Workshop and Inessa
I moved to Pedro’s workshop, where I was inspired by meeting Inessa. She immediately felt like a kindred spirit. One of my artworks was based on a painting I found on the street — a piece that caused many arguments in my family. I transformed it into an industrial landscape.
6. Photo and Audio Recording
On the last day of the project, I found a photo and an audio recording that struck me as unexpectedly beautiful. These finds became the final touches.
7. A Nest on a Dumpster
That same day, I discovered a bird’s nest on a dumpster — a symbol that I’m ready to hatch and take flight like a newborn bird. The stage of growing up is complete, and I’m ready for a new journey.
This project is my journey through symbols, synchronicities, and unexpected encounters that offer new meaning and connection.
